City Bucks is an exclusive program through Cornell Dining that allows you to make purchases at dozens of participating off campus restaurants and supermarkets. Participating merchants provide discounts and special promotions only to City Bucks customers - from free appetizers and desserts to a discount on your total bill.

City Bucks eliminates the need to carry cash because it is a pre-paid declining balance account that is accessed through your Cornell University ID Card. Even though you are using your Cornell ID Card you can purchase a meal(s) for any guest(s) you choose - great for a date or dinner with friends and family. City Bucks can be used year-round and will remain active until your Cornell ID Card is no longer valid, or you stop making deposits to the account.

As a Cornell registered student or faculty/staff enrolled in a Meal Choice Plan, you are automatically provided a City Bucks account. To activate your account all you have to do is add money! Click here to add money to your account online anytime!

It is important to note that some merchants affiliated with the City Bucks program sell alcohol. Individuals 21 years of age or older may purchase alcohol using City Bucks. It is the responsibility of the merchant to follow all applicable laws regarding the sale of alcohol in New York State. Also City Bucks are nontransferable and cannot be used to purchase tobacco products or lottery tickets.
